
In the summer of 2011 on a family camping trip through British Columbia, the song "Seven Spanish Angels" (Ray Charles & Willie Nelson) inspired Dave to write his first screenplay, "Once Upon A Time In Texas". From there, he enrolled in a number of writing classes and programs over the years:
